Rune Stone Set

Rune stones are a system of divination, decision making and communication. 

Each kit includes 25 rose quartz gemstones that have been engraved with a rune symbol and painted golden. 

Also included is an information booklet with identification of each symbol and instructions for rune stone use. 

The zippered velvet pouch is imprinted with gold foil.

It is not known where and when runes first appeared in Western Europe, however, prehistoric rock carvings which were probably linked to Indo-European fertility and sun cults, were used by Germanic people before they possessed any form of script. 

These carvings include representations of men and animals, parts of the body, weapons and symbols of the sun. 

The first glyphs, used by German, Italian and Scandinavian people, were called runes from the Gothic word, runa meaning: a secret thing, a mystery. 

They became used to evoke higher powers that could influence the lives and fortune of the people. 

There were runes and spells to influence the weather, tides, crops, love, healing, fertility, birth and death. 

Runes were carved on amulets, drinking cups, battle spears, over the lintels of dwellings and on the prows of ships.
